Super Bowl LIX surely didn’t disappoint last night! With an epic win for the Philadelphia Eagles, a series of celebrity appearances and a major diss track in the Halftime Show, it was full of viral moments. However, with brands bringing their marketing A-game to America’s biggest stage, Team OCOCO’s favourite part of Super Bowl Sunday is always the ad breaks. Discover who scored a touchdown in our annual round-up, featuring our top 10 ads…

10: REESE'S | Don't Eat Lava

Reese’s took the opportunity to launch their new Chocolate Lava Big Cup with a hilarious 30-second spot warning customers off eating actual lava. This is one of a few Super Bowl ads that really did deserve a laugh this year.

9: Bosch | The More You Bosch

Just when you think it’s impossible to make a fridge look cool, enter Antonio Banderas. In Bosch’s first ever Super Bowl ad, Banderas unlocks a powerful alter-ego (humorously named Bosh-deras), whilst his handyman transforms into wrestling legend Macho Man Randy Savage, all by simply using Bosch products! Fun and unexpected, it’s a pairing we didn’t know we needed!

8: Rocket Mortgage | Own The Dream

Rocket marked a departure from past celebrity-led Super Bowl ads with a heart-warming commercial that focuses on real people and real stories. Set to a reimagined version of “Take Me Home, Country Road”, this one even inspired a singalong in the stadium.

7: Nike | So Win.

Nike’s first Super Bowl commercial in 27 years was a star-studded one that focused on hugely successful female athletes. Sticking with what they do best, Nike enforced the message of doing it even when people tell you that you can’t.

6: WeatherTech | Whatever Comes Your Way

An ad that begins with a disclaimer regarding a “professional stunt granny” is guaranteed to grab your attention. WeatherTech pulled out all the stops in its music-video-inspired ad, following four audacious grandmas living life on the edge in a 1963 Lincoln Continental convertible. Appropriately set to Steppenwolf’s rock ballad “Born to Be Wild,” it’s full of energy and is of the most entertaining ads this year!

5: Häagen-Dazs | NOT SO FAST, NOT SO FURIOUS

Super Bowl LIX marked a historic moment for Häagen-Dazs—not because the ice cream brand had its first ever ad slot, but because it managed to slow down the world’s fastest family! Featuring some familiar faces from ‘Fast & Furious,’ the ad is centred around serenity, specifically how every moment should be savoured when you’re enjoying a Häagen-Dazs.

4: RAM Trucks| Goldilocks and the Three Trucks feat. Glen Powell

Get ready to see Goldilocks like you’ve never seen her before. Taking the classic fairytale on an epic joyride, a wig-wearing Glen Powell takes centre stage in RAM’s ad spot. When porridge doesn’t feed Goldilocks’ appetite, Powell moves onto something 'tastier’… some show-stopping trucks! Loaded with dragon-slaying, wood-carving and volcano-jumping, it’s big-screen worthy and incredibly silly—exactly what a Super Bowl ad should be! Buckle up and enjoy the ride…

3: Disney | Stitch Runs Loose At The Big Game 🥉

Stitch was the perfect main character for Disney’s Super Bowl LIX slot, as he took to the pitch the wreak havoc. His cute appearance combined with his chaotic personality was sure to captivate audiences for the full 30 seconds.

2: Hellmann’s | When Sally Met Hellmann’s 🥈

Movie fans, this one’s for you! Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan returned as their titular characters from the '80s rom-com ‘When Harry Met Sally’ in Hellmann’s ad. Recreating the iconic “I’ll have what she’s having” scene at Katz’s Deli, Sally’s reaction proves Hellmann’s mayonnaise always hits the spot. Also, look out for a surprise cameo from Sydney Sweeney!

1: Uber Eats | A Century of Cravings 🥇

A recognisable face alongside a funny storyline always works well for a Super Bowl commercial. With Matthew McConaughey leading the ad, UberEats made the bold claim that American Football was invented purely to sell food.
